BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN WAIPAHU

On January 27, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 12:54 p.m. and responded to a building fire at 94-035 Leokane Street in Waipahu with 10 units staffed with 35 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 12:57 p.m. to find smoke emanating from the second floor of a three-story building.

Fire fighters secured a water supply, initiated an offensive fire attack and completed a search to confirm no occupants were inside the building. The fire was declared under control at 1:06 p.m. and fully extinguished at 1:32 p.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
