HIGH-RISE BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN WAIKIKI

On February 10, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 2:44 p.m. and responded to a building fire at 400 Hobron Lane in Waikiki with 10 units staffed with 38 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 2:51 p.m. to find a large high-rise building with no smoke or flame visible and investigated further.

Fire fighters secured a water supply, initiated an offensive fire attack and completed a search to confirm no occupants were inside the 11th floor unit that was involved in fire. The fire was declared under control at 3:00 p.m. and fully extinguished at 3:01 p.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the displaced occupants of the fire unit.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
