On February 15, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 10:17 a.m. and responded to an injured dirt biker near Whitmore Village in Wahiawa with 5 units staffed with 15 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 10:31 p.m. to prepare for a rescue operation by air.
It was reported that a male in his 40s was injured while dirt biking and was unable to descend the trail on his own. Air 1 inserted rescue personnel near the bikers location where medical treatment was provided at 11:02 a.m. Due to the tree canopy above the biker’s location, additional rescue personnel were inserted to assist with transporting him to a clearing for Air 1. Air 1 safely transported the injured biker to the nearby landing zone where care was transferred to Emergency Medical Services at 11:54 a.m.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
