RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN KAHALA

On February 18, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 2:45 a.m. and responded to a building fire at 3994 Kaualio Place in Kahala with 10 units staffed with 38 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 2:53 a.m. to find a two-story residence involved in fire.

Fire fighters secured a water supply and initiated an offensive fire attack. Due to a partial roof collapse, all personnel exited the structure and continued fire fighting operations from the exterior. The fire was declared under control at 3:31 a.m. and fully extinguished at 4:44 a.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
