On February 20, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 1:11 p.m. and responded to a building fire at 2352 Wilson Street in Kalihi with 10 units staffed with 38 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 13:15 p.m. to find a one-story residential structure with heavy fire, flames, and smoke conditions to all sides, and partial building collapse.
Fire fighters secured a water supply, initiated a quick attack with a water turret, followed by additional fire attack with handlines. Units were able to evaluate search possibilities to confirm that no occupants were inside, as the building was reported to be abandoned. Units maintained a defensive strategy and utilized an aerial standpipe to put a deluge of water onto the affected structure.
The fire was declared under control at 13:26 p.m. and fully extinguished at 14:12 p.m.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
