THE CAUSE OF THE RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FIRE IN KALIHI HAS BEEN CLASSIFIED AS ACCIDENTAL

UPDATE: The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) Fire Investigator has classified the cause of the fire that occurred on February 20, 2026, at the updated address of 2360 Wilson Street in Kalihi, as accidental. The fire within the vacant home was caused by a cooking grill inside one of the bedrooms. It was reported that the house was used as a frequent hangout spot for teenagers. The damage estimate is $386,000 to the structure and $0 to its contents.
