On March 9, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 6:24 a.m. and responded to a building fire near Lawelawe Street and Hind Iuka Drive in Aina Haina with 10 units staffed with 38 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 6:32 a.m. to find a fire at the site of a previous house fire.
Fire fighters secured a water supply and initiated a defensive fire attack. The fire was declared under control at 6:42 a.m. and fully extinguished at 6:55 a.m.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
