On March 9, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 11:23 a.m. and responded to a building fire reported at 375 Kaimake Loop in Kailua with 9 units staffed with 34 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 11:30 a.m. to find a one-story single-family residence with heavy smoke and flames emanating from the rear of the home.
Fire fighters established a water supply, initiated an offensive fire attack, and quickly brought the fire under control at 11:55 a.m. It was reported that a woman and a dog were home when the fire started and both exited the building safely.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
