On March 11, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 7:45 p.m. and responded to a building fire, which was downgraded to vehicle fires at at an automobile recycling junkyard located at 91-0239 Komohana Street in Kapolei with eleven units staffed with approximately 36 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 7:52 p.m. to find multiple vehicles and tires on fire.
Fire fighters commenced with a defensive fire attack to protect exposures and stop fire spread. All employees were accounted for. The fire was extinguished at 9:24 p.m. and all HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
