WORKERS RESCUED FROM WALL COLLAPSE IN KAILUA

On March 11, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 8:56 a.m. and responded to a confined space rescue at 1508 Mokulua Drive in Kailua with 5 units staffed with 18 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 9:00 a.m. to find two injured and one entrapped following the collapse of a seven foot exterior wall at a construction site. 

Emergency Medical Services at scene were providing medical assistance to the two injured workers. Fire fighters rescued the remaining trapped worker at 9:08 a.m. and medical care was transferred to EMS.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported. 

HFD rescue personnel stabilized the remaining portion of the wall to mitigate any hazards and ensure the area was left in a safe condition. Custody of the scene was transferred to the Honolulu Police Department.
