On March 16, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 1:14 a.m. and responded to a building fire at 85-555 Farrington Highway in Waiʻanae with 8 units staffed with 24 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 1:16 a.m. to find a two-story, abandoned structure involved in fire.
Fire fighters secured a water supply and initiated an offensive fire attack, quickly bringing the fire under control at 1:23 a.m. The fire was declared fully extinguished at 2:50 a.m.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
The HFD Fire Investigator classified the cause of the fire as incendiary. The damage estimate is $2,000 to the structure.
