On March 25, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 11:46 p.m. reporting a building fire at the Waikīkī Park Heights condominium located at 2440 Kūhiō Avenue in WaikĪkĪ. The HFD responded with 10 units and a total of 39 personnel. The first unit arrived at 11:53 p.m. and observed no visible smoke or flames from the exterior of the 23-story residential structure.
Fire crews established a water supply and initiated an aggressive interior attack in a unit on the seventh floor, quickly applying water to contain the fire. The incident was brought under control and fully extinguished by 12:10 a.m. Primary and secondary searches confirmed that all occupants had safely evacuated before fire fighters arrived, and no medical assistance was needed.
Following extinguishment, crews conducted overhaul operations to eliminate remaining hot spots and check for fire extension within walls and other concealed spaces, ensuring the fire had not spread.
All HFD personnel were accounted for, and no injuries were reported. The American Red Cross was called to assist one adult male resident who was displaced as a result of the fire.
An HFD Fire Investigator has been assigned to determine the fire’s origin and cause and to assess the extent of damage. Additional information will be released upon completion of the investigation.
