On March 30, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 12:34 p.m. and responded to a building fire reported at 91-1016 Pakaweli Street in Kapolei with 8 units staffed with 27 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 12:39 p.m. to find a two-story residential building with white smoke emanating from the side of the structure.
Fire fighters established a water supply, initiated an offensive fire attack and quickly brought the fire under control. The fire was fully extinguished at 12:55 p.m. It was reported that three people were home at the time. Two were able to safely evacuate out of the house and the third person was already outside.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
