On March 31, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 11:46 a.m. for a brush fire at 92-7200 Kunia Road in Kunia and initially responded with five units staffed with 12 personnel. The first unit arrived at the scene at 12:02 p.m.; reported an active brush fire, the size about one half of an acre, near a ravine; requested additional resources; and commenced an offensive fire attack.
The fire was under control at 12:17 p.m. and declared 100% contained at 12:48 p.m. The HFD was able to stop the fire before endangering any structures. A utility pole in the area sustained some fire damage.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
The fire’s origin and cause are undetermined at this time.
