TWO-ALARM RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN KAILUA

On April 3, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 6:59 p.m. and responded to a building fire at 1311 Ulupii Street in Kailua with 9 units staffed with 34 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 7:02 p.m. to find a single-story residential building with a working fire.

Fire fighters initiated an offensive fire attack and switched to defensive to protect a neighboring structure.  A search was completed to confirm no occupants were inside of the structures involved. The fire was declared under control at 7:20 p.m. and fully extinguished at 8:12 p.m. 

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported. 

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
