On April 25, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 2:51 p.m. and responded to a building fire near 85-059 Waiʻanae Valley Road in Waiʻanae with 8 units staffed with 24 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 2:56 p.m. to find light smoke coming from the rear of a two-story residential structure.
Fire fighters established a water supply and initiated an offensive fire attack with handlines, quickly bringing the fire under control at 3:00 p.m. The fire was declared fully extinguished at 3:15 p.m. All searches confirmed that no occupants were inside the structure at the time of the incident. Fire fighters then conducted overhaul operations to extinguish remaining hot spots and check for hidden fire within walls and other void spaces, ensuring the fire had not spread.
All HFD personnel were accounted for, and no injuries were reported.
An HFD Fire Investigator has been assigned to determine the origin and cause of the fire and to assess the extent of the damage. An update will be provided once the final investigation report is complete.
