On August May 20, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 6:44 p.m. for a wildland fire near Tracks Beach Park on Farrington Highway (Kahe Power Plant) and initially responded with three units staffed with nine personnel. The first unit arrived at the scene at 6:56 p.m., reported an active wildland fire, requested additional resources and commenced an offensive fire attack. A total of 10 engines and 4 tankers worked diligently to contain the fire.
The fire was reported as 95% contained as of 9:55 p.m. with approximately 3 acres involved in the fire.
No injuries were reported and no structures were impacted.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
