On October 2, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 6:33 p.m. and responded to a structure fire reported at 801 South Street with 6 units staffed with 22 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 6:38 p.m. to reports of an oven fire on the 30th floor.
The next arriving units secured a water supply, connected the building’s standpipes, and prepared for an offensive fire attack in the 46-story highrise. Crews on the 30th floor forced entry into the affected unit and found the sprinkler system activated which controlled the fire. The sprinklers were shut off once the fire was confirmed extinguished and personnel worked to remove water throughout the affected floors.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
