SICK PERSON RESCUED NEAR HALEIWA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN HALEIWA

On June 8, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 8:49 a.m. and responded to a sick person near Haleiwa Elementary School in Haleiwa with 6 units staffed with 17 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 8:53 a.m., established command and traveled on foot to the sick persons location. The second-arriving company secured a nearby landing zone to prepare for air operations.

It was reported that a 62-year-old male became sick and was unable to traverse through all of the heavy brush at his location. HFD personnel arrived at his location at 10:26 a.m. where they conducted a medical assessment and provided basic life support. The patient was then safely transported via Air 1 to the landing zone where medical care was transferred to Emergency Medical Services at 11:20 a.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
