RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN NUUANU

On June 10, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 9:22 p.m. and responded to a building fire near 3325 Kamaaina Drive in Nuuanu with 6 units staffed with approximately 22 personnel. While enroute, the first unit saw flames from a distance and requested a second alarm. A total of 10 units staffed with approximately 39 personnel were involved in the incident.

The first unit arrived on scene at 9:28 p.m. and found a two-story residential building fully involved in fire. Fire fighters started an offensive fire attack, secured a water supply, and had the fire under control at 9:36 p.m. It was confirmed that the two adult occupants safely exited the structure prior to HFD’s arrival. The fire was extinguished at 9:58 p.m.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
