RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN MAKAHA

On September 12, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 10:04 a.m. and responded to a building fire at 84-161 Orange Street in Makaha with 8 units staffed with approximately 24 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 10:10 a.m. and found a working fire in the garage of a single-family home.

Fire fighters secured a water supply, commenced an aggressive fire attack and completed a primary and secondary search to confirm no occupants were inside the structure. The fire was quickly brought under control at 10:16 a.m. and fully extinguished at 10:52 a.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
