On September 30, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 12:28 a.m. and responded to a motor vehicle collision near 5239 Kalanianaole Hwy in Wailupe with 3 units staffed with 14 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 12:33 a.m. and reported a single vehicle had crashed into a wall.

HFD personnel stabilized the vehicle and used battery-powered hydraulic rescue tools to extricate the occupant. Medical care was transferred to Emergency Medical Services at 12:43 a.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
