HIKERS RESCUED ON THE LULUMAHU TRAIL IN NUUANU

On December 9, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 5:25 p.m. and responded to lost hikers on the Lulumahu Falls Trail in Nuuanu with 5 units staffed with 13 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 5:37 p.m and proceeded up the trail on foot.

It was reported that two female hikers, both in their 20s, became lost, and were unable to descend the trail on their own. Air 1 inserted rescue personnel at the hiker’s location at 6:06 p.m. where a medical assessment was conducted to ensure there were no injuries. All hikers were safely transported by Air 1 to the landing zone with the last hiker arriving at 6:22 p.m.
