RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN MŌʻILIʻILI

On January 1, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 2:32 p.m. and responded to a building fire at 2724 Kahoaloha Lane in Mōʻiliʻili with 7 units staffed with approximately 26 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 2:38 p.m. of a 25-story residental building with nothing showing.

Residents reported an odor of smoke coming from the 10th or 11th floor. Fire fighters secured a water supply and building standpipe while they investigated. After investigating on the 10th and 11th floor, fire fighters discovered heavy smoke coming from a unit on the 11th floor. Fire fighters forced entry into that unit and the unit adjacent to it and found a smoldering electrical fire inside the wall between the two units. The fire was fully extinguished at 3:01 p.m. and the scene was returned to the resident manager and unit resident. HFD services were no longer needed.
