BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN KALIHI

On January 1, 2025, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 11:17 p.m. and responded to a building fire at 1824 Dillingham Boulevard in Kalihi with 6 units staffed with approximately 22 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 11:28 p.m. to find a working fire on the second floor of a two-story, mixed-use structure.

Fire fighters secured a water supply, commenced an aggressive fire attack and completed a search to confirm no occupants were inside the structure. The fire was brought under control at 11:45 p.m. and fully extinguished at 11:51 p.m.

Hawaiian Electric was notified of an arcing powerline on one side of the structure. An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
