TWO-ALARM RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FIRE IN WAIMANALO WAS ACCIDENTAL

UPDATE: The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) Investigator has classified the cause of the fire that occurred on April 9, 2026, at 41-928 Oluolu Street in Waimanalo, as accidental. The origin of the fire was determined to be from a string of lights that short circuited and ignited surrounding combustibles. The total fire loss estimate is $412,000, $330,000 to the structure, and $82,000 amongst the lost contents.
