On July 20, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 12:19 p.m. and responded to a building fire reported at 92-1143 Hooko Place in Makakilo with 11 units staffed with approximately 37 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 12:31 p.m. to find a one-story single-family residence with smoke and flames coming from a vehicle on the driveway fronting the home, with flames extending to the garage and the eaves of the roof.
Fire fighters initiated an offensive fire attack and quickly brought the fire under control. A search to confirm that no occupants were inside the residence was completed. The fire was declared fully extinguished at 12:41 p.m.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
