BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN DOWNTOWN

On July 24, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 11:13 p.m. and responded to a building fire at  901 Kekaulike Street in Downtown with 11 units staffed with 40 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 11:17 p.m. to find a three-story, mixed-use structure involved in fire.

Fire fighters secured a water supply, initiated an offensive fire attack and completed a search to confirm no occupants were inside. The fire was declared under control at 12:28 a.m. Firefighters then conducted overhaul operations to extinguish remaining hot spots and check for hidden fire within void spaces. The was declared fully extinguished at 12:40 a.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported. 

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
