On July 27, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 8:02 p.m. for a building fire at the corner of Farrington Hwy and Maaloa Street in Nanakuli and responded with 12 units staffed with 38 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 8:09 p.m., observed flames and smoke from a two-story residential structure and upgraded the incident to a second-alarm assignment.
Firefighters secured a water supply and initiated an aggressive offensive fire attack. A search was completed to confirm no occupants were inside of the structure. The fire was brought under control at 8:37 p.m. and fully extinguished at 9:07 p.m.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.
The HFD Fire Investigator was requested to determine the origin and cause of the fire and to assess damage. An update will be provided upon completion of the final investigation report.
