On August 6, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) responded to a hazardous materials incident near Kuleana Rd in Pearl City. The 911 call came in at 11:14 a.m. 3 units staffed with 10 personnel were dispatched. The first unit arrived on scene at 11:20 a.m., established command and investigated.
HFD crews found a vehicle parked on the side of the road with the driver standing outside. A bleach solution and acid cleaner accidentally mixed while in transport. HFD’s Hazardous Materials unit arrived on scene at 11:27 a.m. and mitigated the spill. No medical attention was needed. All units became available at 12:28 p.m.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
