MOANALUA RESTAURANT EVACUATED DUE TO GAS LEAK

On March 4, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 7:19 p.m. for a propane gas leak at the Moanalua Shopping Center located at 934 Valkenburgh Street in Moanalua and responded with 3 units staffed with 11 personnel.

The first unit arrived at 7:24 p.m. to find a propane tank leaking from the relief valve. HFD personnel evacuated one restaurant in the Moanalua Shopping Center as a safety precaution. AmeriGas arrived on scene and fixed the leaking tank. Patrons were allowed to return to the restaurant after the scene was deemed safe.

HFD closed this incident with no injuries reported.
