UPDATE: The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) Investigator has classified the cause of the fire that occurred on November 7, 2024, at the updated address of 1719 Malanai Street in McCully, as undetermined. The fire originated in the kitchen but there lacked enough evidence to determine the ignition source and cause. The damage estimate for the abandoned home at the incident address is $225,000 to the building and 10,000 to its contents.
