SEARCH FOR MISSING JET SKI OPERATOR SUSPENDED AFTER DAY TWO

UPDATE: On May 25, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) resumed search operations at 6:53 a.m. for the missing jetskier off Mokulēʻia in Waialua. Five units, staffed with 15 personnel, participated in the coordinated effort.

Throughout day two, the HFD continued extensive searches by land, air, and sea from Kaʻena Point to Haleʻiwa Boat Harbor.  Search operations included deploying rescue divers equipped with self-contained underwater breathing apparatus to conduct searches of the ocean floor and deploying the HFDʻs Unmanned Aerial Vehicle unit to aid with search by air.  HFD searched alongside the Honolulu Ocean Safety Department and the United States Coast Guard (USCG).

HFD suspended search operations at 5:06 p.m. and plans to resume efforts at sunrise tomorrow.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
