On May 27, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 8:07 p.m. and responded to a building fire at 1150 Kikowaena Street in Māpunapuna with 7 units staffed with 23 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 8:13 p.m. and reported 3 exterior air conditioning units on fire.
Firefighters initiated an offensive fire attack with the initial engine company. The fire was declared extinguished at 8:26 p.m. A primary and secondary search were conducted and no one was in the structure.
All HFD personnel were accounted for, and no injuries were reported.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the origin and cause of the fire, as well as to assess damage estimates. An update will be provided upon completion of the final investigation report.
