SEARCH FOR MISSING SWIMMERS AT HANAUMA BAY RIDGE TRAIL IN HAWAI’I KAI  SUSPENDED AFTER DAY TWO

UPDATE: On June 25, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) resumed the search at 7:12 a.m. for the missing swimmers at the Hanauma Bay Ridge Trail in Hawaii Kai with nine units staffed with 25 personnel.  For the second day, the HFD, in collaboration with the OSD and the USGC, conducted coordinated searches by land, air, and ocean. The search area remained focused from Maunalua Bay to Diamond Head up to three miles offshore, and also included expanding the search by air towards the Kalaeloa area.  HFD suspended search operations at 6:48 p.m. and will resume search operations at sunrise tomorrow.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
