On July 4, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 10:23 a.m. and responded to a building fire reported at 1903 Palolo Avenue in Kaimuki and responded with 10 units staffed with 37 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 10:30 p.m. to find smoke and flames emanating from a room on the first-floor floor of a two-story building.
Firefighters secured a water supply and initiated an aggressive offensive fire attack bringing the fire under control at 10:42 a.m. Primary and secondary searches were conducted to ensure no one was inside at the time of the fire. The fire was fully extinguished at 10:51 a.m. Firefighters then conducted overhaul operations to extinguish remaining hot spots and check for hidden fire within walls and other void spaces, ensuring the fire had not spread further.
All HFD personnel were accounted for, and no injuries were reported.
