On August 13, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 11:57 a.m. and responded to an injured hiker on the Mānoa Falls Trail in Mānoa with 6 units staffed with 17 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 12:12 p.m. and ascended the trail on foot.
It was reported that a female hiker in her 30s suffered a lower leg injury and was unable to safely descend the trail on her own. Personnel on foot made contact with the hiker at 12:28 p.m., conducted a medical assessment, provided basic life support, and prepared the patient for extraction. The hiker was then safely extracted to the trail head where medical care was transferred to the Emergency Medical Services at 1:08 p.m.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
