LOST HIKER RESCUED FROM WAIMANO TRAIL IN PEARL CITY

On September 4, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) responded to a missing hiker at the Waimano Trail in Pearl City. 7 units, staffed with 24 personnel were dispatched at 9:36 a.m. The first unit arrived on scene at 9:47 a.m. and proceeded up the trail on foot.

HFD personnel were at the hiker’s side by 10:23 a.m. and reported a female visitor in her teens with no injuries. Hiker reported she got separated from her parents and took a wrong turn. HFD crews airlifted the hiker out of the trail via Air 1 and reunited hiker with her parents.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
