On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) initially received a 911 call at 2:48 p.m. for a building fire reported at 794 Lehua Avenue in Pearl City. The first unit arrived on scene at 3:06 p.m. and reported that a large pile of miscellaneous recycled material was burning. Initial companies immediately began extinguishing efforts. Additional resources were requested and a total of eleven units, staffed with 38 personnel, responded to this fire.
Fire fighters immediately commenced an offensive fire attack and brought the fire to containment at 4:56 p.m. Fire fighters will continue to perform overhaul tactics to search for hidden fires to prevent rekindling.
HFD operations reports no injuries at this time.
